Mineral King Radiology is a radiologist-owned group (no venture capital/proven to be loyal to the group) in Visalia, California. Established over 55 years ago, we maintain the exclusive contract at Kaweah Health Medical Center (one local 581-bed hospital, level III trauma) and hospital outpatient imaging center as well as a second radiologist-owned outpatient imaging center and group-owned Outpatient Interventional Radiology center. Partnership track or Employee – Hiring General Diagnostic, Interventional Radiologist and able to accommodate most Subspecialties, high need for MSK, Body, Breast. Onsite or Hybrid options available. Visalia is the gateway to Sequoia National Park, home to the General Sherman, the world’s largest tree, and is also only 2 hours away from Yosemite National Park. It would take years to complete all the possible hikes, as well as other outdoor activities, like boating, caving, mountain biking, snow sledding, and skiing. Visalia is located 3 hours South of San Francisco and 2.5 hours North of Los Angeles. There are many coastal towns to enjoy as well with easy day trip access. Interventional Radiologist Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (12 weeks vacation a year) Study and Procedure Volume: IR/Procedure volumes vary by day. IR positions typically assist with reading plain films when not in IR. All radiologists rotate through the cross-sectional job slot (about 2 wks a year). The majority of time, IR Radiologists will be scheduled in Angio, Light Body Procedures, or the group-owned outpatient IR center. Call: 1:4 weekday IR call (5p-8a weekdays). IR weekend call is 1:4 (48 hrs Friday 5p to Monday 8a). Practice Mix: 75-80% Interventional Radiology with some time in General Diagnostic Procedural Expectations: most vascular and non-vascular interventions, complex high acuity procedures, Trauma 3 hospital. Radiologist-owned OBL with varicose veins, PAD, UFE, GAE, ERSD, Y90 & other general IR Physicians in IR Practice: typically 4, one IR recently moved out of IR preparing for retirement Compensation: Employee Base Salary: $580,000 (internal moonlighting available but not required) Partners: $850,000 – $1 Million+ (partner salary + IR Call stipend) Additional benefits above General Diagnostic Radiologist: Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (evenings & nights fully staffed by remote group) Case Mix: Rotate between two local outpatient imaging centers and one local level III trauma hospital reading general cross-sectional. Call: Call is once every 8 weeks – Evenings are staffed remotely, staying past 5 pm is extremely rare. Weekend is onsite Sat & Sun, 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. Weekends have remote help and evenings & nights are fully staffed by remote radiologists. Technology: Synapse PACS, Powerscribe & Cerner.
