Original employer description
Alaska Imaging is offering two unique teleradiology positions: Evening Shift — 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM Pacific We’ve designed this position to provide a balance of meaningful work, competitive compensation, and a schedule that allows many physicians to maintain a more natural daily routine while they’re working. Then, when your week is over, your two weeks off can truly be spent enjoying life instead of recovering from your work schedule. For radiologists on the West Coast, the workday begins at 4:00 PM and concludes at 1:00 AM Pacific, allowing many physicians to maintain regular daytime activities during their work week without continually disrupting their normal sleep patterns. The workload reflects that same philosophy. Our evening radiologists on this shift average approximately 70 wRVUs during a nine-hour shift. While some practices push for higher production, we’ve built this role around a productive yet sustainable workload that allows physicians to remain thoughtful and engaged throughout the evening. Continuous double coverage is another feature that helps create a steady, well-supported workflow throughout the evening. Position Highlights 7 on / 14 off schedule Nine-hour shifts ≈70 wRVUs per shift $500 per hour (≈$64 per wRVU) $535,500 annual compensation (17 weeks) 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM Pacific Continuous double coverage throughout every shift Independent 1099 contractor Community-based emergency departments and inpatient radiology Level IV trauma Approximately half of the studies are radiographs; the remainder are primarily CT and ultrasound with occasional MRI Optional additional shifts available Malpractice coverage, state licensing fees, and all computer equipment provided McKesson and Mach7 PACS and PowerScribe dictation Overnight Shift — 3:00 AM – 11:00 AM Eastern We’ve created this overnight position built around a sustainable workload, consistent workflow, and a schedule designed for long-term sustainability. Our overnight radiologists average approximately 55 wRVUs during this eight-hour shift. While some national overnight positions advertise higher hourly compensation, they often require substantially higher production. We believe compensation is best evaluated in the context of workload. Our physicians work at a pace that allows them to focus on quality rather than simply maximizing volume. The schedule itself reflects the same philosophy. For East Coast radiologists, the shift begins at 3:00 AM Eastern, making it possible to maintain a more natural sleep schedule than many traditional overnight positions. It was designed for radiologists who want to enjoy overnight practice, not simply endure it. Position Highlights 7 on / 14 off schedule Eight-hour shifts ≈55 wRVUs per shift $500 per hour (≈$73 per wRVU) $476,000 annual compensation (17 weeks) Earlier East Coast start time (3:00 AM-11:00 AM ET) Independent 1099 contractor Community-based emergency departments and inpatient radiology Level IV trauma Approximately half of the studies are radiographs; the remainder are primarily CT and ultrasound with occasional MRI Optional additional shifts available Malpractice coverage, state licensing fees, and all computer equipment provided McKesson and Mach7 PACS and PowerScribe dictation Quality over volume. Sustainability over burnout. // About Alaska Imaging Alaska Imaging is a physician-owned private practice that has served Alaska for decades.
