Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Qualifications To qualify for this position - you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. reporting directly to the Deputy Chief of StaffIn addition to general Radiology - subspecialties aligned under the Radiology Service include Computed Tomography Scanning - Magnetic Resonance Imaging - Ultra Sound - Interventional Radiology - Bone Density - Nuclear Medicine - Cardiac Imaging - and certain vascular procedures in the Operating RoomApplicants must be US citizens - have an M.D. or D.O. degree - have demonstrated administrative and leadership experience (ideally as Service Chief or Department Chair) - and possess the necessary research and educational accomplishments to qualify for an academic appointment at our physically adjacent affiliate - seven hospitals - and Wayne State UniversityOutside of ACOS responsibilities - the candidate will be expected to work within the clinical setting (51% of their effort)Diagnostic Radiology duties and responsibilities are outlined below: Oversight of Quality and Safety Review exam requests for appropriatenessPrescribe exam protocols and modify as needed for specific clinical indicationsProvide clinical oversight of medication administration - including contrast - preps - and other medications relevant to the Imaging ServiceImage Interpretation and Consultation Interpret imaging exams including relevant exam comparison and correlation with clinical information in CPRSInterprets X-ray examinations -
